About Me

My passion for creativity began at a very young age. My parents, both immensly creative in their own ways, taught me the value of creating something beautiful with your own two hands. From Mom, I was taught the basics of sewing and crafting. My Mom sewed her own wedding dress, my prom dress, and countless other halloween costumes and outfits for her four children. (Yes, my Mom is superwoman). I was always interested in the sewing lessons she had, but my true love of sewing did not come until later in life. I loved helping my Mom with the creative design process, and very few things were as fun as school projects. Never was there a mom more excited when her kids came home with a school project she could lend her creative mind to. I bet your popsicle stick log cabin didn't have a lake outside made of melted blue crayons or snow on the rooftops made of ivory soap flakes. My Dad was also helpful in the creative department. He built my siblings and I loft beds, made an entire new porch, and built something new in virtually every room in our home. All built from his own designs. He always needed helpers to lift, hold, or move things (I am a super pro at holding a flashlight), and therefore, a fair amount of building skills were passed along in the process.

It was this love of creating that eventually led to starting my own etsy shop. There is something about taking raw materials and bringing them together to make something new that's therapeutic and almost magical. Sharing my creative wanderings and adventures is what led me here.

Because I live in bustling Southern California and have a high stress job, creating is the place where I retreat. Though it sometimes causes my house to look like a fabric store exploded inside, it is a journey I will never tire of experiencing. To me, being creative feels like home. Having a list of projects to do or plan is a neccesity to me as valuable as air. As I approach the end of my twenties (yikes) I have decided to share my creative travels with those who share my desire to create. This little corner of the world will be mixed-parts test kitchen, interior decorating, DIY projects and sewing. You are invited to experience my creative process and sometimes (ok, maybe a lot) nerdy exploration through making my world a little brighter one project at a time.
